What skin type do Lowanna products cater to?

All of our current products - the everyday cleanser, everyday moisturiser, green clay exfoliating mask, quandong toning mist and everyday eye cream - are designed to suit all skin types. Whether you have dry, oily, problematic, young or mature skin, these products are simple and nourishing enough to cater to all. Our products are naturally soothing and gentle, making them perfect for sensitive skin too.

Many of our plant-based ingredients also contain antibacterial and oil balancing properties, making them the perfect fix for problematic and acne-prone skin. Head to our reviews page or our Instagram to see real customer results.

 

Is Lowanna environmentally friendly?

We strive to ensure that every aspect of Lowanna’s products and operations has minimal negative environmental and social impacts. Our products contain ethically sourced ingredients that are 100% vegan and cruelty free, and our bottles are 100% recyclable. The lids however must be removed before throwing away.

We also use Australia Post to ship your orders, as they offer carbon neutral parcel delivery. You can read about this here.

Our eco-friendly tip: keep your empty green clay mask jar for the perfect non-leak travel size container! The jar fits 90ml of liquid - just under the limit per container when travelling by plane. Use it for your cleanser, moisturiser, or any other cosmetics, liquids or gels. Our other bottles can be re used as well - our cleanser has an open/close twist top lid to avoid leaks, and our eye cream and moisturiser bottles have protective caps.

We know there is always room for improvement in terms of minimising environmental impact, and we will continue to strive for excellence in this area. 

  

What is hyaluronic acid? 

Hyaluronic acid is a clear, gooey substance naturally produced by the body to retain water in the skin, and therefore keep it hydrated. As we get older, the amount of hyaluronic acid our body produces declines, causing dehydration. When your skin becomes dehydrated, it is much more susceptible to signs of ageing.

We have included hyaluronic acid in our Everyday Moisturiser in order to combat this decline. Regular use will ensure your skin is able to retain enough water to appear plump and youthful. 

There are two main sources of hyaluronic acid. One is an animal source, where the substance is typically extracted from rooster combs. The other, and the source we have chosen, is bacterial fermentation. This process uses glucose derived from corn to create the hyaluronic acid in an ethical, cruelty-free bio fermentation process.

I have a nut allergy – Can I still use your products?

Yes - All Lowanna products are nut-free, even our green clay mask. We do however strongly recommend a patch test if you have allergies.

 

How often should I use Lowanna products?

Our cleanser, moisturiser and eye treatment should be used twice daily – morning and evening.  

Our green clay exfoliating mask should be used 1 to 3 times a week, depending on your skin type. If you suffer from oily skin or heavy scarring, we recommend 3 times a week. For sensitive or dry skin, we recommend once a week.

Our quandong toning mist is gentle enough for a daily exfoliant, however it should be skipped on days that you use our green clay mask. This is because both products are exfoliants, and only one or the other is necessary on any one day. 

 

What is the shelf life on Lowanna products?

All Lowanna products have a shelf life of 6 months once opened.

 

Lowanna is a natural skin care brand – but what about preservatives?

All preservatives used in Lowanna products are natural. We truly believe that natural is best. 

Our green clay mask contains no preservatives whatsoever – this is possible due to its natural powder form.

 

What about sulphates, parabens, and synthetic fragrances and colouring?

Our products contain strictly NO sulphates, parabens, synthetic fragrances or synthetic colouring.

 

How do Lowanna products smell so great if you don’t use synthetic fragrances?

We use only natural fragrances in all Lowanna products. Our products are naturally scented with orange, cedarwood, ylang ylang, neroli, and tea tree oils.

 

How long will my order take to arrive?

I placed an order but want to cancel it. Can I do that?

All sales are final. Please make sure you double check the order before finalising it.

In the event we agree to cancel an order, a cancellation fee will apply to cover our transactional fees like online ordering system, payment processing fee, etc. The fee charged is $10 or 5% of the order value, whichever is greater.

 

Will duties and tariffs apply when shipping internationally?

Orders received from outside Australia may be subject to customs tariffs, depending on your local authorities. These funds flow exclusively to your local government, leaving Lowanna out of the loop entirely. This means that we are not in any way responsible for the payment of any fees arising from the purchase of our products.


Is Lowanna Indigenous-owned?

Lowanna Skincare is Indigenous founded. In April 2022, the ownership changed hands and it is not Indigenous-owned anymore. We are continuing with the same product formulations and suppliers that were used when Lowanna was first launched.
